Extracurricular language courses

The extracurricular language courses at UFSC are an extension project designed for both the internal and external university communities. The project offers courses in six (6) languages, including Portuguese for Foreigners.

The teachers are undergraduate and graduate students at UFSC, supervised by a pedagogical coordinator for each language. Courses are offered both online and in person, at an affordable cost that helps fund student scholarships, research and teacher training.

Portuguese for Foreigners is offered in four levels (1, 2, 3, and 4), along with a Portuguese Conversation course (for students at level 3 or higher) and the CELPE-Bras preparation course. Students may begin at Level 1 (if they have never studied Portuguese before) or take a placement test to determine their appropriate level.

Each semester, a call for applications is published on the website www.cursosextra.com  with full details on how to apply and enroll in the courses. The class schedules are also available on the same website.
