CELPE-Bras
CELPE-Bras is the official Brazilian certificate of proficiency in Portuguese as a foreign language. Administered by the Federal Government, the exam is offered every semester by the Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep), with support from the Ministry of Education (MEC) and in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
UFSC, through NUPLE, serves as one of the CELPE-Bras test centers, offering seats each semester for those interested in taking the exam.
CELPE-Bras allows foreigners to demonstrate their proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese. The certificate can be used for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as for validating diplomas of foreign professionals intending to work in Brazil.
